LC stands for “Local Connector“ and is a type of fiber optic cable connector commonly used in telecommunications and network applications. It is a small form–factor connector similar in size to an RJ45 connector, but uses a ferrule with a mechanical spring latch. LC connectors are available with single–mode or multimode fiber connections and are often used in high–density installations. LC connectors provide low insertion loss and high return loss due to their precision mechanical alignment.
