Linux traceroute is a network diagnostic tool used to track the route that data packets take from one network device to another. It can be used to troubleshoot connectivity issues and identify potential problems that could be causing slowdowns or other issues. Traceroute works by sending a series of ICMP echo requests to each hop along the route to the destination. The responses are analyzed to determine the path of the packets and the time it took to reach each hop.
