Resource records (RRs) are the basic building blocks of a Domain Name System (DNS). Resource records store information about various parts of a domain name, such as the IP address, mail server, and other information. Each resource record has a type and a TTL (time to live) value that defines how long it will stay in a DNS server. Many types of resource records exist, including A (address), CNAME (canonical name), MX (mail exchange), and TXT (text).
