Router on a stick is a networking configuration where a single router is used to connect two or more separate LANs. In this setup, a single router is connected by one of its ethernet ports to a switch using a “crossover” cable or a regular patch cable. The router divides the segment into individual subnets and filters traffic between them. This setup uses one physical router but allows the traffic from multiple networks to pass through it.
