A server rack is a type of framework used to mount and organize multiple computer servers, networking equipment, and other related hardware within a data center. Server racks are typically composed of a rectangular metal frame and come in various sizes, known as rack units (U) ranging from 1U (1.75 inches) to 42U (78.2 inches). The U-height of a server rack is also known as a rack unit. Server racks provide a secure and organized way of mounting and connecting servers and other hardware to the network.
