Tailgating (also known as piggybacking) is a type of social engineering attack in which an unauthorized person physically follows an authorized user through an entrance, such as a door or gate, in order to gain access to a secure area. Tailgating is a common form of attack used by criminals attempting to gain access to buildings, businesses, or infrastructure, and can be used to steal information or commit malicious activities.
