TCP/IP (Transmission Control Protocol/Internet Protocol) is a set of networking protocols used to connect hosts on the Internet or other networks. It is the basis for communication between systems on the same physical network and across the internet. The TCP/IP model is a layered networking architecture that can be divided into four layers: application, transport, internet, and network interface. Each layer provides specific services and interacts with the other layers in order to provide an end–to–end connection from source to destination.
