Telnet is a network protocol used on the Internet or local area networks to provide a bidirectional interactive text-oriented communication facility using a virtual terminal connection. It was developed in 1969 and is a standard feature of most operating systems, including Windows 10. It allows users to log into remote computers and access the command line interface. Telnet can also be used to access web servers, FTP servers and other network services.
