IPv4 is the fourth version of Internet Protocol, the primary communications protocol used to connect devices on the internet. It uses a 32-bit numerical address system to identify devices on a network. IPv6 is the sixth version of Internet Protocol, and is designed to replace IPv4. It uses a 128-bit numerical address system, which provides a much larger address space than IPv4. IPv6 also supports features such as mobility, auto-configuration, and Quality of Service, which are not available in IPv4.
