The primary purpose of Network Address Translation (NAT) is to provide a layer of security for private networks by hiding the IP addresses of the individual systems connected to the network from the external world. It also serves to conserve public IP addresses by allowing multiple systems on the same private network to use one or more public IP addresses to access the Internet.
The primary purpose of Network Address Translation (NAT) is to enable private IP networks that use unregistered IP addresses to connect to the Internet. NAT allows a single device, such as a router, to act as an agent between the Internet (public) and a local (private) network. By using NAT, the device can translate the private (local) IP addresses to public IP addresses, allowing traffic to be routed between the two networks.
