Type 2 hypervisor, also known as a hosted hypervisor, is a virtual machine manager that runs as a program on an existing operating system, such as Windows or Linux. It provides a virtual environment for guest operating systems to run in, allowing multiple operating systems to run on the same physical hardware. This type of hypervisor is typically used in desktop virtualization, where users can run multiple operating systems on the same computer.
