An unmanaged switch is a basic networking device that connects multiple computers, printers, and other devices together on a Local Area Network (LAN). Unmanaged switches lack the configuration options of managed switches, making them less expensive and easier to install and maintain. Unmanaged switches are ideal for networks that do not require advanced security or traffic management. Instead, these switches simply forward data packets between computers and devices on the same LAN.
