A Virtual Private Gateway (VGW) is a networking service offered by Amazon Web Services (AWS) that creates a secure connection between an organization’s AWS environment and their remote networks or sites. It creates a secure tunnel or gateway and provides a secure connection to the edge of the AWS network. It also allows customers to connect securely to their remote environments, such as branch offices, data centers, and other remote sites. The VGW routes all traffic from the customer‘s network directly to AWS, where it is then routed to services such as Amazon EC2, Amazon S3, and Amazon RDS. Overall, the VGW provides a secure connection for applications and services running in AWS, allowing organizations to safeguard the flow of their data across the public internet.
