At the command prompt, you can enter a variety of commands depending on the operating system you are using. Common commands to enter at the command prompt are:
• dir – displays a list of files and subdirectories in a directory
• cd – change directory
• help – display help information about a command
• ping – test a network connection
• ipconfig – view network configuration
• shutdown – shut down the computer
This depends on what you are trying to do. For example, if you want to open a program, you would enter the command “open [program name]”. If you want to check the files in your current directory, you would enter the command “ls”.
