It is illegal for servers or sellers to break state laws. Depending on the state and the nature of the law broken, a server or seller could face fines, jail time, or both. If a server or seller is caught breaking state laws, they may be subject to law enforcement action and/or civil penalties. In some cases, the employer of the server or seller may also be held liable for their actions.
