The most common technology used to protect Voice over IP (VoIP) against eavesdropping is Transport Layer Security (TLS) or Secure Real–time Transport Protocol (SRTP). These protocols use advanced encryption to protect VoIP conversations, making them secure and tamper–proof. Other technologies that can be used to protect VoIP include Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) and Quality of Service (QoS).
