Weak Wi–Fi security can be caused by a number of different things, ranging from outdated security settings to outdated hardware. The most common causes include using outdated encryption protocols such as WEP instead of WPA/WPA2, using weak passwords, or not regularly updating the router‘s firmware. Additionally, using an outdated router or one with insufficient coverage range can also lead to weak signals, which can impact the security of the network.
