To check permissions in Linux, open the Terminal and type ‘ls -l’. This will display a list of all the files and folders in the current directory, along with the permissions associated with each. The first column will show the permissions as a series of letters and dashes. The first character is the type of file, the next three characters are the owner’s permissions, the next three characters are the group’s permissions, and the last three are the world’s permissions.
