To configure a DHCP lease time on a Cisco router, first open the router’s command–line interface. Then, enter the “ip dhcp pool“ command followed by the name of the DHCP pool, and press Enter. This will open the DHCP configuration mode.
Next, enter the “lease“ argument and set the time value that the client‘s IP address should be leased for, in the format of days hours minutes. Depending on the network, the value could be anywhere between several hours to several months. After entering the lease time, press Enter to confirm it. Finally, exit the configuration mode by entering the “end“ command. The lease time is now set and will remain in effect until changed again.
