1. Connect one end of the Ethernet cable to the modem/router combo and the other end of the Ethernet cable to the WAN port on your router.
2. Connect one end of a second Ethernet cable to any of the four Ethernet ports on the rear of your router, then connect the other end of the second Ethernet cable to your computer.
3. Power up both devices.
4. Use your web browser to log into the modem/router combo by typing in the IP address of the device. This can usually be found online.
5. Change the settings on the modem/router combo so that it is not broadcasting a wireless signal. It should also be set to assign static IP addresses instead of DHCP.
6. Log into the router’s web–based setup page by typing in the IP address of the router.
7. Configure the router to the same IP address range as the modem/router combo.
8. Set the router’s DNS server to the same address as the modem/router combo.
9. Save your settings and reboot both devices. Your router should now be connected to your modem/router combo.
