1. Purchase a new hard drive. Make sure it is compatible with your computer.
2. Back up your data. This is important in case something goes wrong during the installation.
3. Shut off your computer and unplug it.
4. Open up your computer case and locate the drive. This will vary depending on the model of your computer.
5. Disconnect the power and data cables from the old drive.
6. Remove the screws from the drive and slide it out.
7. Slide in the new drive and secure it with the screws.
8. Reconnect the power and data cables.
9. Close up your computer case.
10. Turn on your computer and install your operating system.
11. Restore your data from the backup.
