1. Turn off your computer.
2. Unplug the Ethernet cable from your router and connect it directly to your modem.
3. Plug one end of a second Ethernet cable into the Ethernet port on your modem, then plug the other end of the cable into the Ethernet port on your computer.
4. Turn on your computer and open your internet browser of choice.
5. Depending on the type of modem you have, you may need to enter an IP Address or a login name and password to gain access to the internet. If so, consult your modem‘s manual to acquire this information.
6. Once you have successfully logged in, you should now be able to browse the internet without passing through a router.
1. Disconnect the modem from your current network setup.
2. Connect an Ethernet cable from the modem to your computer’s Ethernet port.
3. Power on the modem.
4. Wait for the modem to fully power on and establish an Internet connection.
5. On your computer, open a web browser and enter the modem’s IP address in the address bar.
6. Enter the modem’s username and password when prompted.
7. Navigate to the modem’s settings page and change the network settings as needed.
8. Test the connection by visiting a website.
